Liquid acrylic painting techniques

Before starting work, you need to select several colors that will make up the color scheme. The minimum quantity is 2 colors, preferably contrasting. Using 3-5 colors will create a more interesting pattern. If there are more shades, you need them to blend well with each other. When using a large number of shades, there is a risk of getting a dirty puddle.

Traditional fill

The process consists in the preparation of paints of various colors in separate cups, alternately pouring onto the base. Acrylic is poured randomly, colors are layered, creating original effects. With a wooden stick, you can draw straight or zigzag lines of different thicknesses. After all the paints are applied, with a slight wiggle, you need to fill the entire plane of the picture with acrylic.

Filling with puddles

Pour liquid acrylic of selected colors onto the base in separate puddles, the type of pattern depends on their number. You can pour one large puddle, add paint to the center or along the contour, distribute it over the surface of the canvas using a slope. You can fill in a lot of rosy puddles, cover the entire canvas, mix by turning the base in different directions.

Dirty fill

When using this technique, it is necessary to combine the prepared acrylic paint of several colors in one container, pour it onto the base in one motion, distribute it with the help of a tilt, spatulas, warm air from a hair dryer. Liquid paints in a large container can be slightly mixed with a wooden stick or not mixed, the result depends on this.

Acrylic fill using a hair dryer

For this option, these paints are mixed with water, rather liquid. The canvas is poured with background paint, evenly distributed over the entire surface. Liquid acrylic is applied to the base in lines or puddles. After applying all the paint, cold air from a hair dryer is directed to the surface in different directions, you can use your own breathing. At this moment, the colors seem to be stretched across the canvas, a delicate beautiful drawing is obtained.

Backprint technique

With it, you can draw flowers, beautiful abstract patterns. Designed to create small canvases (up to 200×200 mm), the drawing is done on a contrasting background. Cover the surface of the base with background paint, then apply contrasting colors with drops, puddles, stripes, patterns. Apply a canvas, napkin or film to the paint, smooth it so that no air remains between the surfaces. Remove the napkin, the drawing is ready. Thus, a flexible print is obtained, to create a rigid one, it is necessary to use rigid surfaces.

Impact technique

Prepare the paint using the usual medium, silicone is not needed. Pour the main paint over the canvas, it should have a liquid consistency. Apply a few puddles of paint in other colors, hit the puddles with a rubber mallet, in the center or along the outline. It is not necessary to clean the mallet after each blow.
